An individual counseling session will consist of just you and me. Together we will identify the issues you would like to work on. Each session you will learn new coping skills, identify your strengths and ways to use those strengths pro-actively to combat your current issues, and work on implementing ways to address and minimize the issues that brought you to me.
Sometimes our sessions will consist of just venting! We all need a confidential and safe place to let it all out and that can be done in individual sessions together. Sometimes family sessions are used in conjunction with individual sessions to gain better insight into how you interact with others, the environment affecting your life, and to have understanding of the supports in place for you.
